Trevor has been freediving for 20 years this year. He started in 1990 on the south coast of Kwa Zulu-Natal. In 1992 he enrolled on an Ocean Divers International Pro-Course where he was trained as a professional diving educator. The course covered multiple aspects of the diving industry and served as an excellent grounding for any young diver wishing to become a professional.
Trevor has dived extensively in the Mediterranean and red sea and all over Africa and the united kingdom. Back in 1995 before there were safety protocols in place, he had a near drowning in a swimming pool in Liverpool and was hospitalized with a lung full of pool water. In 1998 he began international competition and was captain of SA's first-ever team of freedivers at a world championship, in Sardinia, Italy. This was the beginning of a journey that continues presently...
